Blessing of the Vines 2019

Join us in the Courtyard at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa as we bless and celebrate a fruitful growing season! Rev. Msgr. Thomas Burdick will lead blessings over the vines in their sustainable vineyard with a sparkling wine toast. Next, guests can partake in four food and wine pairing stations, dinner + dessert buffets, dancing, and cash full bar. Musical entertainment will be provided by the band, Big Truth. All guests receive a bottle of Gold Medal red or white wine per pair of tickets, with additional bottles available for purchase at the event.

Effervescence Festival: More Bubbles Brunch

The More Bubbles Sparkling Wine Brunch, the final event of the weekend. Chef Nancy Silverton will again host from at the indoor and outdoor space of Hedley & Bennett, a woman-owned and operated working factory on the border of the Fashion District in downtown Los Angeles, this brunch will embrace the diversity of the grapes and sparkling wine styles from the old world to new world of wine, including California.

Aptos Wine Wander

Join us in the heart of Aptos Village for an afternoon of tasting delicious, local Santa Cruz Mountains wines. All proceeds benefit Rio Del Mar Elementary, Mar Vista Elementary and Valencia Elementary.

Pinot Noir & Chardonnay Harvest Dinner

Join the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association at Deer Park Ranch, home to Lester Estate Wines, for an evening under the stars. The evening will begin with a wine reception, during which guests can sample a variety of wines from the Santa Cruz Mountains while they bid on wine lots as part of a silent auction. Following the reception, guests will be treated to local, farm-to-table cuisine prepared by Brad Briske​, Chef and Owner of HOME restaurant in Soquel, where he cooks hyper-local California cuisine, butchers and cures wild game, and plates up handmade pastas and fresh catch from the Monterey Bay. Taste of the Mountains Menlo Park Wine Walk

The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association presents the Taste of the Mountains Wine Walk on Saturday, June 1 in Downtown Menlo Park from 2-5:30pm. All ticket proceeds from the event will benefit the Menlo Park Atherton Education Foundation. Enjoy wines from small, local boutique wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains poured in various designated tasting locations up and down Santa Cruz Avenue. Check in for your wristband, glass, and a map of the pouring locations – then enjoy an afternoon of tasting and discovering. Purchase your favorites from the bottle booth and Stay downtown for a dinner or movie to follow!

Earth Day Eco-Tour

In celebration of Earth Day we will be offering our Eco-Tour and Tasting for the price of our Classic Tasting. That’s a savings of $15 per person! It’s the perfect time to tour our sustainably farmed vineyard and learn all about our farming practices. You’ll get a close up view, from the comfort of our 8 passenger cart, of the different things we do to ensure a healthy vineyard and minimize our impact on the environment. Then we’ll head back to the tasting room for a tasting of our current release wines.

Calistoga Food & Wine

Solage and Calistoga Wine Growers are hosting the 6th annual Calistoga Food & Wine celebration highlighted by the Grand Tasting featuring 40 Calistoga wineries on Sat. May 11. The wine tasting is a great opportunity to meet winemakers from small production wineries that are not open to the public. These exceptional boutique wines will be served alongside internationally known brands such as Chateau Montelena. Delicious small bites and live cooking stations from local restaurants featuring locally-grown seasonal ingredients will complement the world class wines being poured.

Pinot & Pizza Party at Carr Winery

The day is here… we’re uncorking the highly-anticipated 2017 Pinot Noir releases, firing up the pizza ovens with Lucca Truck, and throwing out all the stops for our Pinot & Pizza Party — an unmissable kickoff to spring, sunshine, and the latest Carr wine! Enjoy live music by Key Party while tasting through the lineup of our debut Pinot Noirs, newly-bottled this month. Free admission and open to non-club members — so bring a friend (or 4)!

Calistoga Winemaker Roundtable

The Winemaker Roundtable features a panel of local distinguished winemakers: Nick Bleecher from Jericho Canyon Vineyard, Jerry Seps from Storybook Mountain Vineyards, Heidi Barrett with La Sirena Wines and Peter Heitz from Shypoke. The event kicks off with a reception where you’ll receive a welcome glass of wine and some light bites. The roundtable will follow, where you’ll taste the wine from each winemaker while they share insight and unique characteristics of their wines and the Calistoga AVA. Afterwards you’ll have an opportunity to meet and mingle with the winemakers, taste their special wines and make arrangements to visit their wineries.

Live Music at Carr Winery with Conner Cherland Trio

Kick off your Friday night at Carr Winery listening to live music by the Conner Cherland Trio and sipping on Carr wines from 6-8pm. With a blend of styles from Americana, to indie/folk, to soul music, Conner Cherland’s voice compares with present-day singers like Hozier, Ed Sheeran, and Shakey Graves. Free admission, 21+.

Eco-Tour and Tasting Experience

What better way to learn about environmentally friendly practices than with a guided tour through our sustainably farmed Rutherford vineyard? Our Eco-Tour & Tasting begins in the Honig tasting room where you will sample our classic Sauvignon blanc. We will then board our 6-passenger cart which will transport you into the vineyard, where you’ll see first-hand the things we do to care for the environment while producing world-class wines – from managing water use, to providing wildlife habitat, to our role in the restoration of the Rutherford Reach of the Napa River (and of course, the Honig bees!) Once we have completed the vineyard tour, relax and enjoy a tasting of our current release wines.

Spring into Zin

Amador County is home to some of the oldest Zinfandel vines in the country, many of us here on Steiner Road use old vines to produce the most decadent wines. We invite you to explore the wineries of Steiner Road and discover the finesse, elegance and diversity of this unique terroir. Join us for this true celebration of Zin! Most wineries will feature a minimum of two different Zinfandel selections ranging from old vines to blends to library releases that will be exquisitely paired with unique small bites. Tickets are $20, which includes an exclusive Start on Steiner logo glass, pairings at most of the eight wineries, and exclusive ticket holder wine specials. Designated Driver ticket is available at each starting winery for $5.

Stags Leap District Wineries: Vineyard to Vintner

Celebrating 30 years as an American Viticultural Area, the Stags Leap District Vineyard to Vintner anniversary celebration includes dinners, in-depth seminars on terroir and winegrowing, and tastings that include coveted library wines and new releases. A portion of the proceeds benefits the University of California at Davis Nathan Fay Graduate Fellowship Fund, an endowment established by the Stags Leap District Winegrowers as a tribute to pioneer Nathan Fay, who planted the first Cabernet vines in the region in 1961.

The Science of Wine & Food Pairing

Expect the unexpected in these interactive, engaging and educational wine classes with Concannon Vineyard Estate Sommelier, LeeAnn Kaufman. What makes a great wine and food pairing? Balance between the taste of the wine and the ingredients in the dish. Learn the complex science and fundamentals behind pairing wine with food while having fun and breaking rules!

Yoga in the Vines

Beautiful views, golden hillsides and lush vineyards await you at Clos LaChance, a certified, sustainable wine grower. Add to this outdoor yoga that will help you breath and open, gently stretching and unwinding, moving through flow and twists, then grounding you in balance and rest. After yoga head to the tasting room for the opportunity to try reserve wines. Yoga 9:30 am-10:45 am followed by wine tasting. Please bring a mat and water bottle. Dress for outdoors; we will be indoors in the winter.

Wine Excursion at a Moraga Vineyard

At Captain Vineyards, we have vineyard classes running throughout the year. Second Sunday of each month, 1:00-3:00 p.m., register online through the Orinda, Moraga, or Lafayette park and recreation. Join us to learn about vineyard management, wine chemistry, and our sustainable practices.

11th Annual Wine 4 Paws Weekend

Want to make a difference for homeless pets? Take part in a weekend of wine tasting and stock up on some of the area’s fine wines. Almost 100 participating wineries, an olive oil company, a brewery, and TWO restaurants will be sharing their weekend’s proceeds with the dogs and cats of Woods. What better way to help Woods continue to care for homeless animals in our community who deserve loving homes? Get out and enjoy the weekend while supporting a great cause! Do your part “Helping homeless pets, one glass at a time.”

Tour and Tastings

Embark on our 10-passenger electric bus and tour our 310 acre ranch. Learn about our grape growing philosophy as you taste signature Ponte wines among the vineyards from which they are grown. California Wine Festival Santa Barbara- Beachside Wine Festival

This is CWF’s signature wine event. Thousands of wine lovers pour into Santa Barbara’s sun-splashed beachside location for a day of sun, sea, wine, food, and music. Wine oenophiles will find hundreds of fine wines, regional craft brews and a dizzying variety of foods to sample. Artisanal cheeses, breads, olive oil, chocolates and more! A live band keeps the beat for this all-day feast for the senses where wine and food are king and queen.

Benziger Earth Day Hike and Wine Tasting

Join us in celebrating Earth Day on a special guide-led walk around our Sonoma Mountain ranch, sharing stories about our property, Biodynamic farming, and the history behind some of our favorite vineyard blocks on our Estate. This will be a great way to celebrate Mother Earth and the beauty of our unique property in Glen Ellen. Following the hike, you will be invited to enjoy a glass of one of our wines from our Terrace Bar Menu. The hike will last roughly 90 minutes, and we will be conducting both morning and afternoon start time starting at 10 am and 2 pm.

Live Music at Carr Winery with The Reserve

The perfect soundtrack to a Friday night? The alt-americana vibes of The Reserve, playing the Barrel Room March 15 from 6-8pm. Pair it with a glass of wine and you’re set! Cultivated in Santa Barbara, The Reserve is a cocktail of music makers that have made up the backbone of the local scene for over a decade. A mixture of textured rhythms from string specialist Jeff Kranzler set the foundation for a dynamic duo of voices bolstered by the carefully crafted instrumental leads of Kris Ehrman. A trained jazz singer, Katie Fritzke’s voice soars while vocalist Dustin Janson uses a raw and raspy style to perfectly round out the sound. With members hailing from all over the U.S., The Reserve consists of musicians with very different foundational backgrounds creating the perfect iconoclastic sound.

Vintage Paso – Friday

Friday- vineyard tours with the winemakers at 12 & 2 pm. Learn about Still Water’s commitment to sustainability in the vineyard and have some fun! Saturday- Enjoy live music by Kevin Graybill with lunch for $10 featuring Pat’s Famous white lightning chili. Music and food 1-4 pm. Tables are first come, first serve. Honig SF Giants Opening Weekend at Oracle Park

We’ve reserved the Audi Legends Club for Honig’s annual opening weekend Giants game! This unique, weekend-only opportunity explores sustainability in action as you enjoy an hour-long horseback ride with organic vineyard views and panoramas across Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay. Down To Earth BBQ

Sip some great wine, bite into tasty BBQ and hear about our involvement in the California Sustainable Winegrowing Program from our winemaker/viticulturist Nicholas Palumbo where he will delve deeper into the word “Sustainable” and what it means to our lives as well as our business. Also learn how you can support local 4H kids and fill your freezer with locally and ethically raised, healthy, safe meats.

Down to Earth at Big White House and John Evan Cellars

We toast Mother Earth during Down to Earth Month in April. Come raise your glass as you gaze across the estate Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard beginning to bud. Make a wish and sprinkle, or toss if the mood strikes, some wild flower seeds along our patio’s edge. Be green and cycle over to taste our upcoming new barrel samples and we will donate your tasting fee to an “Earthly” charity. Tasting room fees apply to taste.

Longoria Winery Spring Open House

Spring is an exciting time of year in the winery and we invite all to celebrate the season at our annual Spring Open House. We will be pouring our newest spring releases as well as some vintage favorites. In addition, Cecco Ristorante will be selling fabulously delicious wood-oven pizzas, local photographer Debby Fuller will be displaying her work in the tasting room gallery, and guitarist Darren Kerr will provide the soundtrack for this festive afternoon. And, in celebration of Spring, we invite you to get Down to Earth with a succulent plant demonstration. Our spring release flight is $15 (complimentary to Longoria Wine Club members.)

Organic Vineyard, Winery & Garden Tour

Come experience a guided walk of our beautiful gardens and organic vineyards and visit with our happy farm animals. Earth Day Tour at Alexander Valley Vineyards

Get a behind the scenes look at the Wetzel Family’s commitment to sustainability.The family motto has always been “use less and have more”. Using that phrase as guidance, Harry Wetzel, IV has taken the family commitment to sustainability to the next level and says quite simply, “it is the right thing to do. Minimizing our impact on the environment is not only good for us, but it’s healthy for everything around us as well.” Join Harry on April 13 at 1pm for a tour of the property, an in-depth discussion of the many components of sustainability practiced for decades, along with tasting the wines resulting from that commitment. This 1.5 hour tour will look at the environmental, economic, and social elements of sustainability that have been implemented since 1962 at Alexander Valley Vineyards. This is an easy walking tour, limited to 35 guests. Reservations are required.

Drink Green: A Toast to Sustainable Winegrowing

Travel to participating wineries for “Drink Green: A Toast to Sustainable Winegrowing” celebrating Madera County’s commitment to sustainable winegrowing and winemaking practices. Taste a variety of delicious wines and “drink green” while learning a few things about what makes our wines eco-conscious: -Owl Box Programs -Grape growing using non-tillage and micro-irrigation management for efficiency. -Energy efficient building materials and equipment in winery buildings and vineyards. -Vineyard composting using biproducts of wine filtering. -Farming and planting methods for best land and water usage. -Certified Organic Winemaking Programs -Solar panels powering wineries, buildings and water wells -Recycling programs used at the wineries. Experience Alexander Valley

Meet the winemakers, walk the vineyards, get your hands dirty- a weekend of behind-the-scenes wine experiences you’ll remember for a lifetime. Each experience is limited to twenty guests, and you’ll find everything from blending seminars with winemakers to ravioli making to brunch & bocce in the vineyards. One and two day tickets are available. Select your favorite experience for a morning (10 am) and afternoon (2 pm) session on Saturday and/or Sunday. Tickets available April 15th.

Eco-Tour

Co-located with Garrod Farms Riding Stable, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards is a historic property farmed by generations of the same family since 1893. Led by our Eco-Docent Ramblin’ Bill Bosworth – who’s married to one of the fun cousins who live and work here – this tour looks at much more than vineyards. Our hillsides are home to wonderful plants and include wildlife corridors for the animals. This gentle hillside walk takes it all in plus includes some family lore! Comfortable shoes for dirt trails are advised; water bottle, sun hat and sunscreen at your discretion. The tour is complimentary; $15 tasting fee for flight of five wines afterward.

Join Winemaker Bill Cooper and see the full scope of grape growing and wine making on property farmed by the family since 1893. Learn the evolution of generational family agriculture, the nuances of Organic grape growing, and the reasons why Cooper-Garrod believes in Sustainability throughout its operations. Walk in the Gravel Ridge Chardonnay Vineyard to see spring vines up close and personal. Find out why efficiencies matter in the crush pad. Take in the wonderful aromas of the barrel room. Novice or oenophile alike, all are welcome, as are your questions. Your ultimate goal? The Tasting Room, of course, to see what comes of it all! Celebrate Organic Farming at RIDGE during Down to Earth Month

Join us as we celebrate the benefits of organic farming on Saturday, April 20th as part of Down to Earth month.  We will be featuring a special flight of wines, current release and library offerings, made entirely from organically grown grapes.  We are the largest grower of organically certified grapes in both Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains, and couldn’t be more excited to share this special flight of wines with you at both of our wineries, Lytton Springs in Healdsburg and Monte Bello in Cupertino.

Join us as we celebrate the benefits of organic farming on Saturday, April 20th as part of Down to Earth month.  We will be featuring a special flight of wines, current release and library offerings, made entirely from organically grown grapes.  We are the largest grower of organically certified grapes in both Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains, and couldn’t be more excited to share this special flight of wines with you at both of our wineries, Lytton Springs in Healdsburg and Monte Bello in Cupertino.

Live Music at Carr Winery with SBCC New World Jazz Ensemble

Get jazzed at Carr Winery on Friday, March 8th with the SBCC New World Jazz Ensemble! The SBCC New World Jazz Ensemble is Santa Barbara City College’s advanced jazz combo. Directed by guitarist Tony Ybarra, this group performs modern jazz and Latin jazz arrangements along with classic jazz standards. The group features students playing saxophone, trombone, tenor sax, brass, drums, and piano. Free Admission, 21 and over.

Wine Excursion at Captain Vineyards/Second Sunday of Each Month

Second Sundays of the month.

Wine and grapes are about place, they speak of the soil from which they grew. Take a tour of this local vineyard, captain vineyards, the first green winery in Contra Costa County and a small business climate leader. We will touch on sustainable grape growing and wine making. The visit will also include a barrel tasting of 4-5 varietals of wine and cheese pairing. Not often you partake in on experience like this in your backyard. www.captainvineyards.com. Acquiesce Winery Sustainable Vineyard Tour

The heart of the Acquiesce all white wine program is the Lodi Rules sustainable farming system and this educational tour is led by vineyard Manager, Aaron Shinn of Round Valley Ranches. Participants will walk the vineyard gaining an understanding of pest management, pruning, tying, shade canopy and irrigation program to name a few. The tour will be followed by an overview of the wine making process and a full tasting of Acquiesce premium wines led by Owner and Winemaker Susan Tipton. To close the event there will be a box lunch with Susan paired with two of her unique wines.

Sunday Funday

Enjoy an afternoon of wine and music! The Hurricane Kitchen Food Truck will be cooking up a storm starting at 12pm, and Santa Barbara-based singer/songwriter Will Breman will be playing from 1 to 3pm. This event is free to attend, no tickets required!

Tablas Creek 2019 Blending Seminar

Our viticulture practices emphasize quality through dry-farming and moderate crop levels. We farm organically, have been certified organic since 2003.

Winemaker Neil Collins will lead a barrel tasting of the individual varietals and a discussion of our blending process, and then set you loose with graduated cylinders to produce your own blend. Lunch will be provided by Chef Jeffery Scott. This event is extremely popular and sells out quickly. The cost is $45 for wine club members and $60 for guests.
