The year is coming to an end soon, and it’s been WAY too long since we’ve had a Winemaker Dinner! This year marks the 90th Anniversary of Prohibition ending, which is always worth celebrating, and just so happens to offer an amazing excuse & theme! In honor of the 21st Amendment, we are hosting a Winemaker Dinner at Purple Orchid on Thursday, December 1st, at 6:30pm. We’ll toast the delights of vino with a special 4-course paired meal with our wines. While in no way required, we highly encourage pulling together a 1930’s inspired outfit (Jessie and Jess are already shopping to find theirs and John thinks he has the perfect suit)!

Join us for a fun weekend at McGrail Vineyards to sip and savor our new November release wines! To best accommodate our Wine Club Members and Guests in the winter months with limited indoor space, we are offering two sessions each day to choose from! Session 1 is from 12:00-2:00pm and Session 2 is from 3:00-5:00pm. The winery will shut down for the McGrail team to reset from 2:00-3:00pm. The 2nd Annual Vine to Wine event, returns October 23rd! This event celebrates the end of Harvest and is where local wineries and wine makers are highlighted. It will take place at the gorgeous Mountain Winery in Saratoga, a venue with stunning views overlooking the Bay Area and sets the stage for delighting the senses. Educational Harvest & Vineyard Tour

Saturday, September 3rd & Saturday, September 17th Participants will walk the vineyard with assistant winemaker, Christina Lopez, gaining an understanding of pruning, tying, shade canopy and irrigation program to name a few. The vineyard tour will be followed by an overview of the winemaking process by Christina and winemaker Susan Tipton. The Escondido Grape Day Festival

Escondido’s oldest and most famous event, the Grape Day Festival, returns Saturday, September 10th, 2022, 10am-4pm at Grape Day Park. The Festival will celebrate the early days of Escondido, when agriculture was King and festival goers traveled from across the state to see why Escondido was hailed as having the sweetest grapes and became an agricultural hub. From 1908 to 1950, it drew thousands of visitors and rivaled Pasadena’s Festival of Roses in attendance. This year, with a renewed sense of community, the Escondido History Center is bringing the Grape Day Festival to life, with a focus on celebrating the traditions of Escondido’s glorious past. Vicki Andersen Artist Reception and Exhibit at Flying Goat Cellars

All are invited to a reception for artist Vicki Andersen. Toast Andersen with a glass of wine and purchase her original artwork or giclees. Her acrylic painting “Sunflower Vintage,” which was used for the 2011 Santa Barbara Vintners Festival poster, and other wine related paintings will be featured at the Flying Goat tasting room through the end of September. Andersen has been painting since her 16th birthday when she was given a set of oils and an easel by her “not yet Step-Father.” That eventually led to earning a degree in Illustration at CalState Long Beach. She has always loved color but her style has become much looser over the years. Most of her current work leans toward the impressionist/post-impressionist style. Our Vine to Wine event is an afternoon of tasting great local wines from over two dozen Santa Clara Valley wineries, enjoying small bite tastings from over a dozen artisanal restaurants and caterers + you’ll enjoy the sounds of the Lavender Fields Band. The event space, located in the vibrant downtown area of Morgan Hill is housed within the open structural frame of a future boutique hotel. This popular outdoor concept is known as MO|HI Social. In addition, we’ll have additional outdoor space available. Your attendance supports the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley, Our mission is to raise funds to provide scholarships and grants to graduation high school seniors planning to major in Viticultural or Enology. South Coast Winery Grape Stomps are composed of two-person teams. The winner of each of these friendly competitions receives a bottle of the special 20th Anniversary Blend. Stomps take place at 2 pm and 4:30 pm. Tickets start at $168 and include a wine flight for each person that matches his/her preferences (choice of three flights) and a case of wine per two participants as part of the ticket price. LA Wine Fest

The LAWineFest brings wines and brews from around the world to your doorstep in a fun, relaxed environment. (Yes, we’re the WineFest. But turns out even wine lovers need a break to sip something else new and noteworthy too.) The Fest also serves up boutiques to browse, gourmet nibbles and artisan merchandise for sale, and a chill vibe. This year we are returning to Long Beach. The 16th Annual Fest combines tastes of wines from California and around the Globe. The ‘Celebration of All Things Wine’ offers tastes from dozens of wineries, numerous craft breweries, plus artisan boutiques, gourmet food trucks for purchase and live music each day. Schugtoberfest

The Schug family’s winemaking roots begin along the Rhein River in Germany, at Domäne Assmannshausen, where Walter Schug spent his childhood and his father Ewald was Winemaster, beginning in 1923. In the early 1900s, as the popularity of Munich’s Oktoberfest grew, the small towns scattered across Germany- including the winemaking regions- began throwing their own versions of the harvest festival. Through this tradition, we continue to celebrate the fall bounty with our annual Schugtoberfest Harvest Party! September is California Wine Month! To celebrate, we are having a release party for one of our signature varietals, Barbera! We will be pouring our 2017 Barbera, 2017 Estate Barbera, and a few other of your favorite Oak Farm Vineyards wines. Food will be available to purchase and live music will be going on from 12pm-4pm. This event is free to attend and open to the public. We are a 21 and over facility, so all guests attending must be 21 or over. 38th Annual Taste of the Town

The Connoisseurs’ Circle Gala dinner and live auction kicks off the two day of events on Friday evening at Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort. Saturday Set at Carr Winery with the Cantillon Brothers

Raconteur and wayward traveling bluesman, TD Lind is in the house on Friday, May 31 from 7-9pm. Born in 1972 in England. Moved to New York in 1991. Since then, TD Lind has lived in Kentucky, London, Los Angeles, Provence (France), and currently resides in Ojai, California. Over the years TD has played/worked with Glyn Johns, Sting, Bad Company, The Moody Blues, Wilco, The Mavericks, Marillion, and James Blunt, to name a few. TD has released four albums to critical acclaim and is currently releasing his fifth record, titled Stone Fruit Blues, backed by the California Feetwarmers and produced by two-time Grammy-winning producer Tim V. Spring is an exciting time of year in the winery and we invite all to celebrate the season at our annual Spring Open House. In addition to the seated dinner portion of the evening, this year’s event will again feature a tent on a closed-to-traffic street in front of K’Syrah’s downtown Solvang venue. Housed inside the tent, nearly two dozen women winemakers who will be on-hand to pour tastes of their wines and talk with event guests during the pre-dinner tasting reception (5:30 PM to 7:30 PM), to include passed appetizers, a cheese table, and live music.

Originally from Maui, Karlin links the Island-style flavor with fusion and a variety of songs that feel good. This is a show you won’t want to miss! Shennie was born and raised in Norway and moved to Santa Barbara at the age of 19 to pursue her lifelong dream of working as a singer in the beautiful state of California. When Shennie is not singing with Cata, she works as a vocal coach for children. For her, singing connects the mind with the heart, and the heart with the soul. Catalina, who goes by “Cata” to fans, is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She moved from her hometown to Santa Barbara to follow her dreams of developing a music career. Together, the duo’s sound is heavily influenced by folk, rock, pop, and blues.
