Earth Day Reception at Flying Goat Cellars

Join Flying Goat in the celebration of “Down to Earth” (D2E) Month and Earth Day. Sustainability is the theme and we are sharing some of our many practices toward that goal. Norm and Kate source fruit from some of the finest vineyards in Santa Barbara County so they do not practice viticulture. Yet, they do practice backyard beekeeping, vermiculture, composting and gardening, which contribute to a sustainable environment. Flying Goat also has many sustainable practices in the cellar and tasting room. At our Earth Day Reception, we’ll share a bee demonstration hive and honey to spark your interest.

Medlock Ames Backyard Nights

Vicki Andersen Artist Reception and Exhibit at Flying Goat Cellars

All are invited to a reception for artist Vicki Andersen. Toast Andersen with a glass of wine and purchase her original artwork or giclees. Her acrylic painting “Sunflower Vintage,” which was used for the 2011 Santa Barbara Vintners Festival poster, and other wine related paintings will be featured at the Flying Goat tasting room through the end of September. Andersen has been painting since her 16th birthday when she was given a set of oils and an easel by her “not yet Step-Father.” That eventually led to earning a degree in Illustration at CalState Long Beach. She has always loved color but her style has become much looser over the years. Most of her current work leans toward the impressionist/post-impressionist style. Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend is a themed weekend in Paso Robles Wine Country featuring individual experiences at wineries. This year our Vintage Paso: Zinfandel Weekend will not feature a single marquee event. 100+ local wineries celebrate with 3 days of experiences. Create your own Zinful itinerary to smell, sip, and savor the heritage of Paso Robles. Currently, large-scale gatherings are not approved. Winery Hike-in-Place

During Shelter-in-Place, Six Sigma Ranch & Winery has opened up the trails on their 4,300-acre property to the public at no cost. At a 6-foot socially safe distance, guests can enjoy hiking, biking, walking, and running along the many trails, with a stunning vineyard backdrop. The team is also offering wine by the bottle and ranch-raised meat for purchase to take home out of the tasting room, open in a grocery style 9am-4:30pm daily. If you want to use the trails (open 9am-4:30pm), check in at the tasting room located two miles down the driveway.

Cooking with Cakebread

Cook along with Cakebread Cellars Culinary Director Brian Streeter live in his home kitchen. Each week, Brian will prepare a recipe using simple yet flavorful ingredients with a gourmet twist and pair it with the perfect wine. We’ll post the recipe online so you can shop and order your wines in advance.

Honig Eco-Tour and Tasting

What better way to learn about environmentally friendly practices than with a guided tour through our sustainably farmed Rutherford vineyard? Our Eco-Tour & Tasting begins in the Honig tasting room where you will sample our classic Sauvignon blanc. We will then board our 6-passenger cart which will transport you into the vineyard, where you’ll see first-hand the things we do to care for the environment while producing world-class wines – from managing water use, to providing wildlife habitat, to our role in the restoration of the Rutherford Reach of the Napa River (and of course, the Honig bees!) Beta Play (previously known as Tommy & the High Pilots) have released five albums and four singles. When they aren’t touring, the Cantillon Brothers like to keep up their musical chops by playing in more intimate settings, bringing a variety of covers to the table that include ’50s and ’60s doo-wop, classic rock, modern pop hits, and everything in between. 2013 Tributary Pinot Noir by the Glass

Join us Saturday, March 14th at our Riverbench Vineyard Tasting Room where we will be pouring our very limited production Tributary Pinot Noir. This wine is only made on select vintages, from the best barrels of Pinot Noir on the property. Because there are only a few cases of this wine left, we do not open bottles for normal tastings. This year, he earned a spot on John Legend’s team on season 17 of The Voice. Since the show’s finale, Breman continues to play at various venues along the West Coast. Catch the Alastair Greene Duo on the Carr Winery patio this Friday evening! Enjoy Carr wines and empanadas from Buena Onda. Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Alastair Greene has been a mainstay of the Southern California music scene for close to three decades. He has released eight solo albums (including two live recordings and a compilation record), the most recent of which is “LIVE FROM THE 805.” The album was nominated for Rock Blues Album of the Year by Blues Blast Magazine in addition to being included on many “Best of 2018” year-end lists by multiple publications. Carr Winery 20th Anniversary Party

Come help us celebrate 20 years of Carr wine! We’ll be raising a glass to our past, present, and future (and all the bottles opened and connections made along the way). Riverbench Vineyard Tasting Room: Extended Hours

After many club member requests, we’re trying something a little different. Riverbench Vineyard tasting room along the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail will be open for a late afternoon of lawn games, all original live music and wine by the glass or bottle. Bring your blanket, chairs and friends for a relaxing Friday afternoon in our garden. Tasting flights end at 4pm; our normal closing time. Wine served by the glass or bottle from 4 to 6pm.

Wine + Doughnut Pairing

What’s better than doughnuts? Doughnuts paired with wine! We are excited to partner with a local bakery in Los Olivos for this special sweet and savory pairing. God’s Country Provisions was established in 2018 to bring creativity to familiar doughnuts we all love, delivered with wine country hospitality. Pre-order of this doughnut pairing is required, as they will be baked to order and picked up each morning. Ticket holders may come in to our vineyard tasting room anytime on Saturday from 10am – 3pm to redeem their tickets for a delicious wine and food pairing flight.

Veteran’s Day at Riverbench Vineyard

At Riverbench, past and present military service men and women receive complimentary wine tastings year round. For Veterans Day weekend, we’re toasting to those who served. Visit either Riverbench tasting room anytime on Saturday, Sunday or Monday for a special library sparkling wine pour added to any tasting.

Halloween Pumpkin Decorating

We’re excited to be hosting a day of pumpkin decorating at our vineyard tasting room. Bring only your creativity – we’ve grown hundreds of pumpkins for you to choose from! One pumpkin and decorating supplies included with each ticket. Choose from seating options beginning at 11am or 2pm. Wine by the bottle or glass available throughout the day in the garden. Tastings available inside the tasting room. Tips for a great day: Secure your tickets early – space is limited. Rain or shine the event will go on – dress accordingly for this outdoor event.

Live Music, Food Truck + Wine in the Vineyard

Sundays in October are always a great time to visit Riverbench Vineyard! Special outdoor wine menu includes wine by the bottle or glass. Bring a blanket and find a spot for a picnic on the lawn. A local musician (to be announced soon) will be filling the garden with all original music from 12pm to 3pm. Big Truck Foods will be serving their delicious grilled sandwiches and burgers made with deli-fresh meats and cheeses, served on locally baked breads with their own unique sauces.

Schugtoberfest

The Schug family’s winemaking roots begin along the Rhein River in Germany, at Domäne Assmannshausen, where Walter Schug spent his childhood and his father Ewald was Winemaster, beginning in 1923. In the early 1900s, as the popularity of Munich’s Oktoberfest grew, the small towns scattered across Germany- including the winemaking regions- began throwing their own versions of the harvest festival. Through this tradition, we continue to celebrate the fall bounty with our annual Schugtoberfest Harvest Party! Admission includes drink tickets, bites, live polka with dancing, and stunning views of Carneros from the Schug Estate.

30 Years of Alegría

Harvest Experience – Tour, Breakfast & Wine

The tour will begin with a cup of coffee in our tasting room, followed by an up close experience with our state-of-the-art winery while in full swing. You will watch the grape trucks roll over the scales and head up to the elevated crush pad to fill the hopper, and from there you will follow the grapes down to the sorting belt, to the presses or de-stemmer and into the cellar to see our winemaking team in action. Barbera Release Event

September is California Wine Month! To celebrate, we are having a release party for one of our signature varietals, Barbera! We will be pouring our 2017 Barbera, 2017 Estate Barbera, and a few other of your favorite Oak Farm Vineyards wines. Food will be available to purchase and live music will be going on from 12pm-4pm. This event is free to attend and open to the public. We are a 21 and over facility, so all guests attending must be 21 or over. Over the years TD has played/worked with Glyn Johns, Sting, Bad Company, The Moody Blues, Wilco, The Mavericks, Marillion, and James Blunt, to name a few. TD has released four albums to critical acclaim and is currently releasing his fifth record, titled Stone Fruit Blues, backed by the California Feetwarmers and produced by two-time Grammy-winning producer Tim V. Our Eco-Tour & Tasting begins in the Honig tasting room where you will sample our classic Sauvignon blanc. We will then board our 6-passenger cart which will transport you into the vineyard, where you’ll see first-hand the things we do to care for the environment while producing world-class wines – from managing water use, to providing wildlife habitat, to our role in the restoration of the Rutherford Reach of the Napa River (and of course, the Honig bees!) Live Music at Carr Winery with Karlin Ladera Band

Originally from Maui, Karlin links the Island-style flavor with fusion and a variety of songs that feel good. They enhance their reggae-inspired sound with R&B, hip-hop, Top 40s pop, classics, oldies and everything in between. Pair a glass of Carr wine with the innovative sounds of ukulele, rhythm guitar, and some smashing, lyrical, feel-good flows. Free admission, 21 and over. 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Barrel Room.

The Mythology of Wine

Arthur George, a mythologist, winemaker, and cultural historian, will explore the mythology of wine in various cultures over the ages. Sip on a glass of wine from Carr Winery while enjoying the opportunity to hear a scholarly approach to the mythology of what’s in your glass! Presented by the Santa Ynez Library.

Wine Taste on the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail

It’s officially the season to start wearing white, and it’s definitely the season to be drinking whites! Vertical Tasting: Emerald Ridge Pinot Noir Feature

“Join us St. Patrick’s Weekend for a celebration of our own slice of the ‘Emerald Isle’ with one of our most beloved wines, Dutton Ranch – Emerald Ridge Pinot Noir. This stunning Green Valley of the Russian River Valley property was planted by Steve Dutton and is a club and employee favorite. We will be pouring a 3-year vertical of this lush pinot noir, paired with mini-corned beef Ruebens. Wear something green and come out to play.

Mill Creek Vineyards’ Cabernet Weekends in February

When the weather turns cold (as in February), its the perfect time to crack open a bottle of Cabernet and curl up by the fireplace. Join us weekends through the month of February in the Tasting room for a special Bordeaux wine list featuring a library selection and several high-end Cabernet Sauvignons. Hopefully the weather will comply, and it will be warm enough to sit outside by the new fire-pit.

Earth Day Celebration Weekend at Castoro Cellars!

Earth Day Celebration Weekend, April 27th & 28th! On Saturday Castoro’s beautiful tasting room grounds will be transformed into a festival celebrating Earth Day from 12-4pm featuring live music by Dante Marsh, educational demonstrations, vineyard tours, local organic food samples, craft vendors and art. Lunch available by Bethel Rd Kitchen. Wine Tasting $10/pp. Family-friendly!
